Minutes of Meeting held 7.00pm Tuesday 8 June 2004
Held at the Community Centre, Phoenix Street, Sandycroft, Flintshire

Consultative Arrangements
- Queensferry Police Surgery to be held 3.00pm 1st
Monday of the month in the Memorial Institute.
- Reports of young persons drug & alcohol misuse.
- Compensation to be paid, regarding the vandalized
street lights.
- Update awaited from Trading Standards regarding sale
of alcohol to underage youths.
- Speeding Go-peds causing nuisance
- Pentre parking problems/ a site meeting to be arranged
after the election.
- Over limit parking in Station Road, Queensferry/ to be
monitored.

2. Minutes
The
minutes of the meeting held 11 May 2004 were passed as a True
and Correct Record. Proposed by Cllr. K Garrett and Seconded by Cllr. D.
Clare
Vote: 8 For. 0 Against.
3. Matters Arising from the Minutes
- Broken fence at Sandycroft
Community Centre, costs for palisade fencing being sought he Authority, had
checked records with land registry and confirmed that they were not
responsible for this fence. They suggested perusal of the Community Centre
deeds.

- Planning application re: erection of a steel portal
frame building for warehouse and distribution at Prince William Avenue,
Sandycroft. The Authority would be reminded the requested information had
not been received.
- Garden Competition / the detail flyers had been
delivered in the council’s area.
- Flintshire Environmental Competition 2004/ Station
Road Queensferry and Belvedere Close were entered in the competition.
- The Authority had confirmed that weight restriction
signs on the entry to Phoenix Street would not be erected, as some vehicles
have exemption, etc. Refuse and delivery lorries.
- The Authority had been make aware
of:
- Subsidence in road & sunken drain,
Phoenix Street; drains requiring attention at Fairfield Road & Pierce
Street, Queensferry and at Fairway, Sandycroft.

Litter problems in the areas/ although litter picking had
taken place, the problem was on- going

Net Work Rail had confirmed they would make an
inspection of the poor surface and the overgrown vegetation on the railway
bridge, Pentre and also inspect the Japanese Knotweed problem in Dundas
Street rear access at Queensferry.

Applications for Grants.
Resolved. The
Council use it’s Powers under Section 137 of the Local Government Act 1972 and
made the following grant, which, in the opinion of the council are in the
interest of the area and its inhabitants:
Queensferry
CP School, £200 for replacement play equipment.
Proposed by

Abstained. Cllr. J. D. Vyse declared interest, being a school governor.

8. Matters Requiring Urgent
Attention
Queensferry / Pruning of the lower tree branches
by the crossing.

junction in need of cleaning.
A number
of residents complaining that the local food processing factory was causing
nuisance, due to the extremely foul odours and also noise level.
The Clerk
would write to various M.Ps. and contact the Authority.
The Chairman
gave thanks to the retiring members of Council, and the Clerk would send a
letter to them on behalf of the council.
