Minutes of the finance meeting held 7.OOpm Monday 8th January 2007 at the Community Centre, Phoenix Street, Sandycroft, Flints.

Present:

Councillors: A. Parry (Presiding) D. Clare, Mrs. L. Clare, K. Garrett, B. Humphries, D. Roberts, Mrs. S. Salisbury, D. Wisinger and the Clerk.

1. Apologies for Absence: Cllr. Mrs. S. Wynn.

2. The Minutes of the meeting held 10 July 2006 were passed as a true and correct record. Proposed by Cllr. D. Roberts and Seconded by Cllr. K. Garrett

3. Matters Arising from the Minutes

• Skate-park progressing, planning consent had been granted and Groundwork (Wrexham) contacted.

4. The Precept for the year 2007/2008

Information was circulated regarding the proposed budget, after discussion and some amendments, it was Proposed by Councillor Denis Clare, Seconded by Councillor David Wisinger and agreed that the Precept 2007/2008 be set at £28,000.00

5. Consideration of the requests for Financial Assistance (Grants)

Council agreed that these payments be made under Local Government Act 137 to

benefit the community and its inhabitants:

Sandycroft Community Centre            £650

Society of St. Vincent de Paul            £100

Sandycroft & Mancot Scouts Group     £300

Sandycroft Methodist Church             £400

6. Items of Financial Business for Discussion

• The Clerk to receive a 5% increment on her gross salary & her mom - allowance be increased to £450

• Bridge Villas rear access — enquiries continuing.

7. Recommendations to the Full Council meeting —9 January 2007

• Precept be set at £28,000.00

• The named applicants in Agenda item 5 to receive financial assistance

• The Clerk to receive a salary increment and increase in room allowance

• Replacement of two old and cracked concrete lighting columns in Pierce Street, Queensferry.

• The purchase of a 40 mile activated street sign to be sited near to the Sandycroft sign in Chester Road, Sandycroft.

8. Date of the next meeting of the Financial Committee

No date confirmed. Meeting closed at 8.OOpm.
