Minutes of the meeting of the Finance Committee held 7.OOpm Monday 9 May 2005 at  Sandycroft Community Centre

 

Present

Councillors: Mrs. L Clare (Presiding), D. Clare, D. Wisinger, and the Clerk/RFO

 

1. Apologies: Cllr. B. Humphries, A Parry, D. J.Vyse, M S Wynn.

 

2. The Minutes of the Meeting held 11 April 2005 were taken as read, and confirmed as a true and correct Record

 

3. Matters Arising From the Minutes

• Replacement Bollard/rear access Dundas Street As the plan to have an additional street light instead of a bollard had now been cancelled the Clerk would inlbnn the Waste Management Department that a bollard would be shortly erected, and to make the drivers of the reline wagons aware.

• Bridge Villas, Queensferry - the Clerk would send a letter to the residents, informing them that as ownership could not be established, this rear access would be included in the informal maintenance carried out on all the rear accesses in the community, e.g, sweeping, cleaning and weed

• Insurance Policy — The Clerk had made enquiries regarding Public Liability Cover; the Insurers had sent a letter confirming that adequate arrangements were in place.

• First steps taken to becoming a Quality Council - the Clerk had sent the course papers for appraisal and was making enquiries to the next stages.

Council website-Cllr. Denis Clare had improved the website and a printer friendly version of Council Minutes would now be available to the public.

 

4. Accounts for year ended 31 March 2005- as copies had been circulated, these Accounts were approved and the Clerk thanked for their preparation and presentation.

 

5. Any other Financial Business for Discussion.

The following items came under discussion and recommendations would be made at the fill Council Meeting: Two additional street lights for Station Road Sandycroft, Bridge Villas are included in the rolling programme of rear access sweeping and cleaning The Clerk to receive the salary increment, as recommended by NALCC. Broadband be tried for one year. A concrete bollard, for Dundas Street rear access to be ordered.

 

6. Recommendations to be made by the Financial Committee to all members of Council

• The Accounts be approved and made ready for Audit by the signature of the Chairman & Clerk R.F.O.

• Quotation for two additional lights in Station Road, Sandycroft

• Quotation for the rear access maintenance rolling programme to include Bridge Villas.

• Broadband to be tried for one year on the computer that the Clerk used.

• The Clerk to receive an increment in salary as recommended by NALCC.

• The Food Processing Factory would be a monthly item on the Agenda for Council Meetings

• Bollard Dundas Street, rear access now required

• Community Times, the council newsletter would be circulated to residents four times per year, one relevant to Sandycroft & Pentre and one to Queensferry.
